I’d like to list some of my favorite women, storybook characters, and female heroes…

Lady Gaga – Because she is unapologetically herself.  She is not afraid to express her creativity.

Elta Voneiff Melson – Because she was there for me when I most needed someone to be.  She pointed out my flaws in a firm but kind way and helped me to want to be a better person.

Liz Brookes Gordon – Because she  was and is my inspiration for starting and continuing to keep moving forward with karate.

Elle Woods – Strong, kind, independent, fashion sense, and going after what you believe in.

Petunia the Duck – She found her man and rescued him!

Michonne – Badass zombie slayer and then some.

River Song – There’s a woman who can keep a secret.

Hermione Granger – She’s brilliant and not afraid to correct someone’s spelling

Lisbeth Salander – One of the strongest survivors of an abusive childhood.  Computer hacker with a photographic memory, and fiercely anti-social heroine with a violent streak.
